Profile - Nicholas Callanan Nick is a physio who joined the squad in June 2020 during Covid restrictions. He came as a a bit of a fun runner who liked long distance. After introducing him to track work he became more interested and focussed on speed and speed endurance development and has continued to improve over all distances. Jerome joined the squad in 2017. He ran most of the season but struggled.. The following season he missed due to being overseas. He returned to running in 2018/2019 and made significant improvement during the season. Sophie is a young athlete that is more middle distance focussed. She joined the team in late 2018 with pare existing stress fracture. After a lengthy time off she has now returned to running. Ruby joined the squad in early 2018 part way through the season. Her training was immediately changed from long slow work to speed work and speed endurance. initially there was little improvement because the load was extensive and intense but after some freshening some immediate significant improvement emerged. Elena is a young athlete (11 yrs) that is very versatile. She enjoys the shorter sprints and the focus for her when she is so young is to concentrate on speed technique until she develops She joined the squad at the beginning of season 16/17 to improve her running. Her mother Trish also joins in to train withe the squad. She is eligible for Novice events. Pro Debut - 2017 Sandringham U/14 100m. Bella joined the squad at the end of Season 16/17. She has no athletics background but she has a background in Karate and enjoys full contact sparring. Despite being involved in other sport running conditioning is still a major task for someone so new to athletics. She is eligible for novice events.
